“You’re Stealing my Moves!”

Dealing with attachment issues in Acro Yoga Fusion

Acrobatics tumbling, hand to hand, partner balancing and Yoga have been around since way back in the day. Who’s to say when Acro Yoga Fusion started, and who started it?

Some dude hoisted some other dude up in the air breathing deeply from the lower back, with bandhas activated, and a dynamic practice was born. And that’s the beauty of the thing; the natural progression of Acro Yoga Fusion into a traditional art form is upon us. And yet, that said, when it comes to “my moves” I can get pretty uptight. I’m resentful when I see someone working on something I’m doing, even when they credit me for their inspiration, I still feel put out. What’s up with that?!

The manifestation of my competitive nature forces me to examine my motives as a performer teacher and human being. Perhaps it’s time to practice what I preach and get with some non-attachment therapy. Acro Yoga Fusion is a great time, a challenging dynamic, fun, soulful practice, full of potential. I’m gonna try to let my little ownership issues go and enjoy practicing with my friends, family and students.

Peace out

  1. Hey Jessica and Eugene,
Kerol Rose turned me onto your site – sounds like you guys are doing great and what a wonderful concept. It’s a meme is what it is and who gives a care as long as it is in the air!

I took photos of you guys back in 94 when you did the busker festival in Halifax. I’ll look them up and see if there are any worth scanning and sending. Love you to have them. Maybe you do? I cannot remember anything…

Kerol is psyched to see you soon. And babies!!

    love,
    Jan
